ISABELLE ELIE

 

Isabelle Elie is not just a fashion designer; she is, first and foremost, a woman, and it is for women that she designs modern, avant-garde collections that allow her clients to distinguish themselves from other women in this world. After a decade of designing, Isabelle continues to innovate, constantly seeking materials from which to create the fashions best suited to each event.  Whether it’s for attending the city’s most prestigious gala, facing a violent rain storm, or a day at the office, the underlying principle remains the same: “Putting the woman first”.  As Coco Chanel stated so eloquently: “Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.”  This is what Isabelle does so well, by importing the most beautiful fabrics from around the world, turning them into clothes that allow the modern woman to stand out, no matter where she goes!

While Isabelle’s career started almost a decade ago, her artistic experience dates back much further.  She first studied at Montreal’s Institut Cotnoir Capponi before going on to the Ontario College of Arts in Toronto where she developed her artistic talent and learned to master the concepts of fashion design. She then entered the fashion arena as a stylist for publications such as Châtelaine and Clin d’œil as well as film productions where her talents were put to good use on costume design. Eventually, she moved from the creation of costumes for the make-believe world of film to the design of collections that continue to reflect her love of art.  In the process, Isabelle Elie quickly earned an enviable reputation for the design of ready-to-wear fashions that continue to earn her kudos ten years later.

The Design and Production are carried out entirely in Québec under the attentive eye of Isabelle Elie. Her creations are available exclusively in Montreal, on Laurier Street.
