DESIGN

Isabelle’s design work begins with a sketch that rapidly takes shape as she finds the finest possible high-end fabrics from overseas suppliers. Fabrics are her source of inspiration. She studies them, drapes them, creases them, stretches them, presses them.  She masters them and is attuned to them.  The fabrics dictate the cut; just as the marble sculptor is guided by the veins in his material, her drawings embrace the structure of the fibres.  Cut on the bias and highly structured, her fashions hug the woman’s body.  Obviously, Isabelle also draws her inspiration from the major trends in international fashion, giving them new meaning as she adapts them to her vision of the woman who must always be showcased by the clothes she wears
